MAC Taste Temptation

Taste Temptation is the second of the two collections that MAC has brought out to finish out the holiday season and this is the bigger and easier to find of the two.  Taste Temptation will actually be available at every single counter and will be the last big release before the spring collections begin coming out.  Personally, I am more than happy to skip the rest of the holiday collections and products and just head right into the spring shades and I know that I am not along in this wish!

I looked at this collection briefly when it appeared on the Temptalia beauty blog and I liked many of the products and shades from this collection but there were only one or two lip products that really caught my attention and that I want to buy from the collection.  I didn't bother with a pre-order on this collection, there wasn't enough that I liked when I was playing with the collection at the counter the other week and since finals are beginning, it is just much easier for me to order items from the website.

Taste Temptation contains lots of jewel toned hues and will be best for getting dressed up and going out at night.  Nothing in this collection will work well for the office or the daylight hours and many people may find some of the hues very hard to carry off...

"A seductive style surfaces after-hours, drawing in an exotic panorama of pleasure-seeking, night-blooming violets. M∙A∙C captures this world in an elegant colour collection of deep purples, plums and amethysts."

Fluidline - Ultra-smooth, Fluidline's gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. Brush sold separately.

False Lashes Extreme Black - Intensely inky, this lightweight, innovative mousse-like formula creates the illusion of lash extensions. Saturates lashes in the deepest, darkest, richest black imaginable with each stroke of the unique double-lush brush.

Mattene Lipstick - With its streamlined design, this new slimline lipcolour, features the traditional glamour properties of a matte lipstick – intense colour and semi-matte velvety finish – while offering a creamier, softer, more glide-on application. Non-caking, non drying. Moisturizing and incredibly wearable yet absolutely matte.
- Nocturnal Instincts - mid-tone grayed lavender
- Night Blooming - mid-tone blue pink

Tinted Lipglass - A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip Pencil or Lipstick, Tinted Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It's pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. It contains Jojoba Oil to help soften and condition the lips. Tinted Lipglass is packaged in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides a quick, smooth, even application.

Nail Lacquer - Revolutionary new high gloss formula. Three long-wearing finishes - Cream, Sheer, and Frosted. Visibly different. Provides no-streak/no-chip finish. Contains conditioners and UV protection. Go hi-lacquer!
- For Fun - rich clean purple
- Blue Gaze - dark periwinkle

211 Pointed Liner Brush - An extra-fine tipped synthetic fibre brush that delivers a exact, definite, even stroke when lining the eyes. Perfect with any formula!

129 Powder/Blush Brush - All-purpose for blush or face powder. This brush is particularly good for blush application. The fibers are soft and form a full, rounded shape. M·A·C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature wood handles and nickel-plated brass ferrules.

My favorite piece of the collection is the one lip shade that ended up on my December Most Wanted list, the Mattene Lipstick in Night Blooming, this bright pink matte lip hue will be perfect for the rest of the winter months and then all the way into the spring months.  I love bold pink lip hues and this one is no exception, all MAC Lipsticks make me happy and I want to add more to my collection!

I will be skipping over all of the eye makeup shades in this collection, I would never use any of the navy shades on my eyes and I don't know that I would use the plum shade very often and I know that I wouldn't use it in the spring.  I would be more likely to look at a shade like this late next summer when I am shopping around for fall makeup.  I will return to a deep plum hue in the Fluidline eventually but I will skip over it in this round.  Neither of the blush shades catches my eye either, the only products that work for me from this collection will be the lip products.

There are a few shades of Tinted Lipglass that I would like to add my collection, even though lip gloss is the last item that I should be buying right now.  Perky and Good Times will work now while my skin is pale and then all throughout the spring and summer, they are well worth the purchase.  Lastly, the Nail Lacquer shade in Blue Gaze.  This deep periwinkle is like nothing else in my polish collection and I will get lots of use from it.

Holiday is pretty much finished up for MAC and now I am ready for the spring collections that will be out starting in January!
