Most Wanted February 2014

February is one of my favorite months for beauty product shopping, the spring collections are quickly dropping and I am ready to start grabbing all the new releases.  I am ready for some new fragrances and makeup products and my Most Wanted List is full of both types of products, I was a bit surprised that I wasn't craving any new skincare products this month but I have a pretty solid routine right now and I am not really looking to change things until the weather starts to warm up.

I am probably the most excited for the new MAC releases that are coming, the newest collection is called A Fantasy of Flowers and has my name written all over it.  I am so excited to add more pink lip shades to my collection and I have a very good idea of what my shopping over the next few months will look like.

I am all about new eye makeup and lipsticks this month, a change from what I usually want to buy in January.  I tend to start the year off by wanting new skincare products but I have been loving my current skincare routine so I am all about adding more makeup to my collection.

I think that I am the most excited about the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette and I know that I will buy and review this palette within the next few weeks.  I have been some lovely pictures of looks created with it and I must add it to my collection!

Most Wanted December 2013

Today is the first day of December and we are in the final stretch of time before my finals for this semester and the end of the holiday season.  I have a few last products from the holiday collections that I want to look for and then I will start thinking about what types of beauty trends we will be seeing for the spring season.  I am the most excited about Urban Decay releasing the Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette in the very beginning of this month and I will be waiting on pins and needles until I can buy and try it out.

I also make a larger Most Wanted List in the month of December, I get inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas and I want to pick up a few extra holiday gifts for myself.  This month I have a mixture of makeup and perfume products that I want and then I plan to try some new skincare products in the month of January.  I am feeling all kinds of new color products right now and I want quite a few new eye shadow palettes this month.

Most Wanted November 2013

This month's Most Wanted list pretty much wrote itself, I have been loving many of the products that I have been seeing so far in the holiday makeup collections and this month's shopping list pretty much wrote itself.  MAC plays a huge role in my shopping list and I will be visiting the counter quite a few times this month, I am considering driving down to King of Prussia one day to visit the actual MAC store but I have a feeling that this will be a fool's errand during the holiday season.  I think that I will be skipping the store to visit the website and my local MAC counter.  One day I will see a MAC store in all of its holiday glory...

We have reached the time of the year that I am finishing up my fall shopping and starting to slowly look ahead to the holiday collections that will be coming out in the next few weeks.  I have never been a big fan of holiday collections and tend to find that they repeat the same shades and themes over and over again.  We will see what I find this year to add to my collection as each company starts to unveil them this month.

Most Wanted August 2013

The end of the summer is upon us and I have been thinking about and starting to shop for fall for about the past four week, I start with beauty products and now I need to begin thinking about clothing and shoes for the cool weather months.  I am craving new jeans and have been loving the pair that I got from Lucky Brand about six weeks ago, now I want more from this line and at least another pair or two from Express.  I am also want a new school bag and new boots to match.  This is going to be a great fall and I can't wait to start shopping for new clothing.

I started beauty shopping already, my first purchase was two shades from Urban Decay's new Revolution Lipstick formula (review coming very soon) and I have a bunch more products that I will want to order this month.  This Most Wanted List is almost all about lips and nails and then some new skincare to add to my routine.

Most Wanted July 2013

We are in the heart of summer and I am establishing all of my warm weather beauty routines and beginning to think slightly ahead to the fall months.  I might pick up a few last summer items and fragrances but more of my focus is on fall items that could be used early on with my summer makeup looks.  I am craving some new eye shadow palettes this month and I have decided that fall will be my time to add several palettes and single eye shadows to my collection and try to temper the amount of lipsticks and lip glosses that are crowding my traincase.  I will continue to update with how this mission plays out when I go shopping at Sephora...

One additional feature that I will be adding to my blog is Fitness Fridays, I joined a gym for the first time about a month and half ago and already it becoming a big part of my life.  I am looking and feeling better than I did this spring and the combination of the exercising and clean diet are improving my skin and hair like nothing else that I have tried.  Each Friday, we are going to look at an exercise, workout fashion, or healthy food choices.  Don't worry...we will still spend most of our time talking about beauty brands and products but I want to expand and move into how inner health affects outer beauty.

This month will hold my last fragrance purchase in the warm weather, I will be going to fall fragrances by August and this is my last month for a light, fun fragrance.  I am picking up very few makeup items yet for summer, most of these are early fall products and will either be worked into my current look or will be put away for the next two months.

Most Wanted June 2013

Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone and summer is now officially here and now I want to buy more beauty products to celebrate the warm weather!  I had to wear a coat all weekend during the holiday weekend so I am very excited for the warm weather to finally get here and to get to the beach one weekend.

I have been talking for months about buying more eye makeup but I am afraid that this month will be a failure for that promise...all I want this month is lipstick and lip gloss shades!  This is the time of the year that I tend to wear less eye makeup than usual so I guess that I can sort of justify picking up an extra gloss or two and I have been collecting pinks all spring and I want to add some brighter pink hues to my collection this month.  I also want more bright nail polish shades and summer is the best time of the year for me to collect all of these.  The beginning of this month will probably end my summer beauty product shopping and then I will start saving up my money to buy more makeup for the fall months!

Most Wanted May 2013

May is always my favorite month of the year, it is my brithday month but it is also when the warm weather really begins to come and I begin thinking about summer vacations and the fun that is coming up over the next few months.  This also is the month that I do the most makeup shopping as I feel that my birthday is a reason to purchase more beauty products than any other time of the year. 

I want a combination of every single type of product this month; I am excited for the Temperature Rising collection from MAC to be released at the end of this month and I have picked out several new nail polish shades that must come home with me.  Perhaps I should buy myself a better storage system for my birthday too.

I can't even decide what I am most excited about this month, I love all the new nail polish shades that I want but the MAC Temperature Rising products are calling my name also.  However, I really love the first pictures that I saw of the NARS Loves New York Set, it contains a combination of some of their best selling and most flattering makeup hues and would occupy prime real estate in my train case.  That palette might be my favorite purchase of the whole month!

Most Wanted April 2013

April may be the cruelest month in poetry (T.S. Eliot) but this is one of the best months for beauty product shopping!  Sephora Friends and Family occurs for two weeks this month and MAC has several good collection that will be released in the next four weeks.  All the spring products are out and the summer collections are now on the way too so I can start wearing my favorite new items for spring and then begin to start crafting my summer makeup looks.  In addition to new MAC collections, I am craving some new fragrances for the spring, I have been trying and using samples for the last few weeks but so far I haven't found my newest series of fragrance purchases.

This month will be a huge shopping month for me and I know that I will be updating with favorite products and new finds throughout the whole month.  I already talked about new MAC collections but there all kinds of products on my shopping list.  This month alone, I have three new fragrances on my shopping list and I will be searching for more samples of them so that I can try each of them again before buying them.  I have smelled each of the fragrance on my list and so far I am really liking them but a second round of trying is needed.  I will be reporting back in the next few weeks...

March is now officially here and that means that spring will begin at some point soon.  I have started shopping for spring clothing and accessories but I still have a long way to go to buy everything that I need for a new spring wardrobe.  And this is the month that I start beauty product shopping for spring, lately I have been craving a new fragrance or three and some new pastel nail polish shades.  I am all about color this spring and clothing and accessories and my beauty product buys will follow this same trend and I am so excited to start shopping!

Most Wanted February 2013

February is one of my least favorite months of the year, I hate the end of the winter blahs and my least favorite holiday appears in this month.  I have to do lots of beauty and fashion shopping this month to combat the winter blahs.  At least all the spring collections are now at the counters and every clothing store has new items for me to shop for.  I have been crafting my spring style on Pinterest over the past few weeks and now it is time for me to start shopping and putting the pieces together. 

This will be a big beauty month too...I will be doing my Theme Week on Skincare Ingredients this month (Tarte's Pure Maracuja Oil changed my beauty routine around last month and I pushed the Theme Week off until I can properly test and try all the products that I bought for it).  I also want to do a Theme Week around my favorite products for Valentine's Day, along with more spring collections and some new fragrances.  We have lots to pack into the next 28 days!

Of course I will want a huge order from Archie's Girls, I am looking at these four products as my initial purchase and I know that I will purchase a few more pieces from the collection when I see them at the counter (and after at least one restock of the collection).  Illamasqua's Nail Varnish in Raindrops is still backordered and out of stock so I added to my list for this month, I have been looking at it for two weeks now and will keep waiting until I can get my hands on a bottle.

This month will be a big color month for me, I have lots of skincare products right now and am not adding any more to my collection right now and the same holds for body products.  I want all kinds of new color products for spring and we will see what next month holds!

Most Wanted January 2013

Happy New Year!  What is the best way to start off a brand new year?!  Why new beauty products of course!  This is the time fo the year when I start looking through all of my current beauty products and start looking at what can be used up and start finishing up some half-used items so that I can begin introducing new items for the spring into my collections.  This is also the time of the year that I need hydrating skin and haircare products more than any other and I will spend more money on items from these categories this month and next month. 

This month I am most excited about shopping all of the new MAC collections and adding more hydrating products to my product lineup.  I am also starting to look at the spring trends and starting to pick up a few products that I can use now and then keep using into the spring, I am so excited for the bright pink NARs Pure Matte Lipstick shade and I will be buying this one very soon!

Most Wanted December 2012

Tis the season!  This is the last month of the year for beauty product shopping in 2012 and every single December, I tend to expand both my shopping list for myself and my Most Wanted list grows by a few items.  Since there are 12 Days in Christmas, I pick out my Top 12 picks for this month instead of the usual 10.  As soon as finals stress is over, I will be making myself a lovely Sephora order to celebrate that I have survived another semester of graduate school and I know that some of the following products on this list will be in starring roles!

The only big MAC release this month is the Taste Temptation collection, a collection of jewel tones hues that looks nice but it won't really change my life.  I am really looking forward to the Bobbi Brown Caviar and Oyster products and hope that they aren't all sold out yet, the same holds for some of the Laura Mercier products that have caught my attention!

A new Urban Decay Naked Palette is always cause for celebration!  Naked Basics is the smallest palette of the line and contains matte eye shadows that are said to mix very well with any of the shades in either Naked Palettes and I am hoping that they will tone a few of the strong shimmers down a bit for daytime.

Most Wanted November 2012

It is now the very beginning of November and the holiday season is in full swing, I am ready to start some holiday shopping for both myself and all the people on my gift list.  Usually I start with myself in November and begin to get my gift list together for everyone else.  I am not a Black Friday shopper so I usually do my shopping online the week after and then have one big shopping day at the mall to get the rest of the list checked off.

So what do I want the most this month?  I loved the holiday color collections from both Chanel and MAC so I know that there is a Macy*s trip in my very near future with a stop at both of those counters.  I also have decided that I need to start getting a few new skincare products to take my skin into the winter months and I will be proactive this year to ward off what happened last year...when I had to replace all of my skincare products in a span of two weeks and I had several trips to Sephora as the bottles kept running out.

It looks like I need to start some shopping for me and start getting a few ideas for others...I am so excited for the new Forever Red fragrance from Bath and Body Works.  I tried this several weeks ago and this is the best fragrance that they have introduced yet and I must have it wear throughout the holidays and then through the winter months.

Most Wanted Allure Best of Beauty 2012

The October issue of Allure magazine always contains their annual Best of Beauty list and I look forward to this issue all year long.  Evey single year after I read this issue, I make a list of the top ten products that I must try from their favorites and add them to my shopping list.  I feel very confident buying any product from this list as products that make the final cut have beat out tons of others to win the product category.  I always find some new favorites from this Allure issue...

This year is no different.  It took me a bit longer to read through the large issue as my grad school work is piling up and shows no signs of stopping.  However the other night, I finished up the issue was able to make a Most Wanted list from the Best of Beauty awards.  This might be the last year that I can do a Most Wanted list from this magazine, I had tried so many of the products that made the cut already and I could only come up with a few that I haven't tried and would want to try.

Most Wanted October 2012

For me, October is the month that I really begin to celebrate the fall season.  The weather is crisp enough for me to wear my fall perfumes and use richer body products.  I will be wearing a red lip for most of this month anad can finally straighten my hair again almost every single day.  This month, I will finish up shopping for my fall beauty products and start getting ready to begin my holiday shopping.  I am not yet ready to even begin thinking about the holidays but the rest of the beauty world is so I need to break down and start checking out the holiday collections as they come out.

I am all about nail polish shades this month, I will admit that I buy a lot of polishes during the holiday because so many great hues and sets are released this time of the year.  Of course I would have to include some items from the MAC and Marilyn Monroe collection, everyone knew that was coming and I can't wait to do some shopping at the counter.  Lastly, a new Stella McCartney fragrance yet too?!  My month is complete!

Most Wanted August 2012

The fall makeup and body products are now almost fully in the stores and I have been craving a good shopping spree for the past week or two now.  The fall clothing is also beginning to cath my eyes and I am so excited to get some new shoes and a tote bag before grad school begins at the very end of this month.  As much as I want to shop this time of year, I know that I can only buy some new items if I use up current products and clean out my closet.  So my goals for this month are as follows: clean out closet and made a Goodwill trip, use up as many summer body products and fragrances as possible, and to start creating my look for the fall months.  This is going to be a very busy four weeks before school begins!

It seems that I will need to add cleaning out my nail polish stash this month too...I just can't wait to start my fall shopping and get ready for the new season!

Most Wanted Nordstrom Anniversary Event 2012

The Nordstrom Anniversary Event started several days ago but with work and life being as crazy as it has been, this is the first day that I have been able to start checking out the products and shades that are exclusive to this Event.  I am mostly interested in the new MAC color collection and the rest of the color products.  I use this Event to find new color products and to stock up on huge sizes of skin and body care products.  I hardly even find new skincare products through this Event but love stocking up on the special offerings from Clinique.
