NARS Holiday 2009 Collection

No matter how icky I am feeling, a new NARS collections always manages to brighten my day. Which is good, since today I have the sniffles, a sore throat, and my body aches all over. I guess that it's time to look at the new products for this Holiday season before I manage to fully contract the flu.

NARS states that, "The look for NARS Holiday 2009 Collection is steeped in sophistication and sensuality with a palette of shades that are intriguing and bold with just the right touch of festive shimmer. 'For the holidays, I think it's a great time to feel beautiful...with a bit of movie star attitude', Francois Nars".

Here is the new collection...

Soft Touch Shadow Pencil - New! Soft Touch Shadow Pencils provide easy, portable, long-wearing application. These jumbo sized pencils have versatile functionality to shade the lid, line, or highlight the eye. Smooth, creamy texture delivers a smooth, velvety feel to the eye and make for easy blending and an ideal base for layering with a powder shadow for increased color intensity.

- Aigle Noir - black infused with gold shimmer

- Goddess - glistening pink champagne

- Skorpios - iridescent copper

Duo Eye Shadow - Shades to inspire and desire. The same long-wearing, crease resistant formula as NARS single eye shadows, in uniquelt paired color combinations. Worn together or alone, all duo eye shadows can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic look. All powder eye shadows can be used wet or dry.

I can't really say that I am very excited about this collection. There are some pieces that I would like to get but overall, I find the collection to be on the fair side. I that Holiday collections are somewhat like Summer collections in that the majority of the collections tend to very similar and that trends are mostly set in the Spring and Fall collections. From this collection, I would really like to get all three of the new Soft Touch Pencils and the Taiga Duo Eye Shadow. I haven't used a jumbo Lip Pencil in a very long time (I had one in high school from Clinique) so I would be willing to give it a shot but I'm not really attracted to either of these shades.
