Labor Day has officially come and gone and bags of Halloween candy are beginning to appear on store shelves. This is the time of the year when I stop thinking about fall in makeup terms only and decide to start putting my summer body products away and buy some new ones that are 100% fall inspired. Apples, caramel, candy corn...I love them all. Body product companies are now following makeup companies and we are beginning to see these traditional fall fragrances available on websites and in stores. I'm not into really spicy scents so I can't use all types of fall scents but that only makes me love the ones that I can use even more!
We are going to start looking at fall body scents with Bathed and Infused. Their limited editions just came out at the end of the other week so everything is brand new and ready for me to try. With a few more days of warm weather in the forecast, this is the perfect time to order some products online, by the time that they get to me, it will be cool enough outside to break them out!
Here are the limited edition fall fragrances from Bathed and Infused...
Autumn Magic - Autumn comes to life in this magical fragrance. Autumn Magic starts with top notes of lemon and apple; followed by middle notes of anise, cinnamon, and ginger; sitting on a weel-rounded base of woods, musk, and vanilla.
Baby Be Mine - All the sweetness that is a baby. Cuddly soft scent of baby powder, touches of gentle lavender, chamomile, vanilla milk, and Ivory soap.
Black Gold - Gold that burns with a dark fire. An intriguing blend of Black Cashmere and 24 Karat.
The Black Spot - Even the most fearsome of pirates live in fear of the day that they might receive the black spot - a mark that warns them of their impending doom. This ominous scent embodies that sense of dread quite perfectly: Dark tendrils of amber and vetiver chase after whiffs of cedar, before settling in the wet, mossy grave of Davy Jone's locker.
Black Violet Vaniglia - Purple violets take on an ethereal quality when infused with the sexy amber of Vaniglia del Madagascar.
Broiler Room - Imagine the mouth-watering aroma of a luxuriously cinnamon-sugared pink grapefruit, deeply caramelized after a few minutes under the broiler. A little extra kick of toffee sweetness balances the tart. Really - give this gourmand breakfast of champions a try!
Can't Elope - Don't get nervous, let our combination of melon, pear, apple, and mint refresh you.
Caramel Apple Cider - This is not your ordinary apple cider. This tart cider blend is swirled with creamy, ooey, gooey caramel to make it sweet and totally irresistable. Two Fall treats in one - bottoms up!
Coconut Ginger Cream - This decadent dessert merges the ending of summer with the rich scents of fall. Rich vanilla ice cream swirled with pieces of crystallized ginger candy with a shaving of coconut to top it off.
Coffin Moss - The delicate balance of green notes with a hint of earthy sweetness makes this potion delightfully fresh and aromatic. For the inspired ghost, zombie, or ghoul.
Cranberry Gone South - Headed south at the first signs of fall in an attempt to beat the crowds, Cranberry met Mandarin! The result nine months later? A delightful marriage of sweet, sunny oranges and crisp, tangy tangerines. What a bundle of joy!
Country Bumpkin - A wonderful complex blend of apples, candied yams, marshmellows, sweet cream butter, brown sugar, crushed nutmeg, crushed cinnamon bark, and fresh cloves. Bring the country home to you.
Dawn's Dessert - A treat fit for Eos, the goddess of dawn: fluffy marshmellows sandwiched between sugar cookies, dipped in creamy white chocolate, and sprinkled with cherry-infused sugary dewdrops.
Diwali (Hindu - Festival of Lights) - In November, Hindus celebrate Diwali and the scent of Payasams cooking as a sweet treat wafts through the streets. First the scent of sweet milk and almonds catches your attention and then you pick up hints of saffron and cardamom used to flavor this pudding. A final note of rosewater tickles your nose.
Dreamy White - A soft scent that stays close to the skin...comforting, like a big fluffy blanket still warm from the dryer on a crisp Fall morning.
Fall Dusk - The most magical time of the year when the fairies come out, flitting from their hiding place amongst the blackberry brambles to perch on their violet petal thrones. A time when anything is possible. Simply enchanting!
Fizzy Lemon Tea Cola - Iced tea with lemons mixed with fizzy cola!
Flannel Pajamas - Cool weather means it's time to break out those warm, cuddly pajamas! This cozy scent combines French Lavender, creamy vanilla, and a hint of cedar resting on a base of soft powder.
Forum Fridays - The excitment is brewing as everyone frantically scans the forum for their coupon goldmine! 24 karat gold those coupons are...with a little limoncello, raspberry, and peach bellini...missing out on those coupons drives you to drink.
Glow - When fall comes blazing in, the air changes, your mood changes, and brilliant dusk displays dance across the sky. The rhythm of your days change, too: fresh picked apples are boud for spicy ciders and cobblers; the sweet crunch of fallen leaves accompanies each stroll; and the warmth of your newly-started fireplace blankets you each night...just the right place to tip back your rocking chair and bask in the glow.
Great White Pumpkin - The ever elusive Great White Pumpkin is rarely seen and almost never caught. Creamy pumpkin and sweet vanilla meld together for a perfect cool weather blend.
Harvest - A special fragrance just for fall. You will experience notes of apple and pumpkin with spice notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and clove. Apple and pumpkin notes are recognizable, while ginger and spice dominate the drydown. We added the subtleness of pine, which adds a fresh forest aroma to a wood base that creates a wonderful fall fragrance to be allured by.
Hot Maple Toddy - A warm, after dinner drink with pronounced notes of maple and rum, leading to a buttery, creamy vanilla and caramelized sugar base note.
Last Leaf - Don't get me wrong, I love fall and all its colors and scents. But for now, I'm still craving the last of the green, lush, and bright...like the spa-worthy marriage of crisp bamboo and aromatic fig leaves, warmed by tropically luxurious coconut milk and Tahitian vanilla.
Luini's Lover - In 1525, a Saronno church comissioned Bernadino Luini in painting their sanctuary with frescos. Luini was in need of a model, and found more than artistic interpretation in a young widowed innkeeper. They fell in love, and as a gift, she created a lovely concoction known today as Amaretto. To reflect a love which was so aflame, we think that the fire of Scorched is a perfect addition to this amorous liquor.
Nut Cart - The aroma of sweet roasted nuts floating through the chilly autumn air is enough to warm your soul and bring a smile to your face.
Ouiji - For each question, their is a tantalizing answer - does it come from the other side? A mysterious and sensual concoction. Contains sweet creamy pumpkin, Bourbon vanilla, juicy blood orange on a base of resinous amber and black honey.
Pajama Party - When the summer is over and it gets rainy and cold outside, call your girls, take out your cutest pajamas and pop in a movie! Now all you need is a slice of white cake, a bag of fluffy marshmellows, and some Blueberry bubblegum and let the party begin.
Pumpkin Apple Butter - Pumpkin apple butter fragrance will put you in the mood for the holidays with top notes of orange, apple, pear, pineapple, and cherries; middle notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove; with base notes of vanilla. Unique and simply amazing1
Pumpkin Cheesecake - The incredible aroma of cardamom, ground cinnamon, Vermont maple, pumpkin puree, carrot, whipped cream, rum, cream cheese, caramelized sugar, and French vanilla blended to true perfection.
Pumpkin Cremasse - It's back! We couldn't wait for Halloween to bring this one back. Our wildy popular Cremasse meets sweet pumpkin. What could be better than sweet milk, coconut, cinnamon, and pumpkin? It's the epitome of fall.
Pumpkin Crumble - Creamy pumpkin, mellow spice, fluffy yellow cake, and crumble topping. This sweet pumpkin will make your mouth water.
Pumpkin Joyeux - Crisp autumn air and long, dark nights call for warm, cozy scents. This one is a blend of our famous Almond Joyeux and sweet pumpkin.
Pumpkin Muffin - A real treat! This muffin scent is loaded with the real aroma of fresh pumpkin and spice. Great fall scent!
Purple Pumpkin - This is one sweet smelling secret weapon! This is a beautiful blend of pumpkin, vanilla bean, and smooth lavender that reportedly drives men wild. Don't say we didn't warm you!
Roasted Pear Bellini - Toast to the sexy scents of Autumn, with a flute of Roasted Pear Bellini! A lovely fragrance featuring Warm Pear Nectar, Honey, and Champagne.
Sanctuary - The end of summer usually means the return to work, to school, to - too much to think about! That's when a cool weather spa trip is on order. To really open up to all the craziness and warmth that fall has to offer, we sometimes need to linger just a while longer in the sanctuary of the fresh and rejuvenating...
Silk Scarf - With its vibrant colors and smooth, cool texture, a silk scarf jazzes up any dull, fall outfits. Violets, strawberries, and lemon zest on a bed of bright greens.
Slow Burn - She's an artist, you know. And sometimes she gets a little distracted in the kitchen. Sometimes things get burned. Sometimes deliciously. This subtly lavender-infused, toasty coconut creme brulee is one of her delectably happy accidents: a little creative twist here, a lot of sweet coconut-vanilla custard there, and then comes the blowtorch...
Stargazer - The night sky is coming earlier these days. Maybe your summery rose fragrance wants to get a little darker, too. With unexpectedly warming touches of pink pepper, smoky vetiver, and the darkest of gourmand chocolate notes, this might just be the deliciously dark bloom you'll want to accompany your nighttime stargazing.
Indian Summer - Strong top notes of strawberries and green apples and pears; middle notes of geranium and basil; bottom notes of oak and fresh greenery. Very complex!
Tea for One - When the cold weather arrives, I resolutely stay outside each morning (for awhile). Sure, I've got a blanket (or three) wrapped around me, but where better to take my tea - and the changing view - then outside on the porch? This one's subtly smoky, sweet, and warm inside and out.
Turkish Marketplace - Breathe in the scents of a perfect outdoor market: figs, nutmeg, chay (black tea), and honey.
Yellow Silk - Buttery, rich, velvety, and sweet, this blend brings together sugar, coconut, banana, and buttery creams for a decadent treat.
Lots of spices and pumpkins in this group of new fragrances, I will be skipping out on all of those but some of these fragrances sound fantastic. I would love to order Yellow Silk, Stargazer, Caramel Apple Cider, Glow, Roasted Pear Bellini, and Slow Burn. I don't doubt that many of the spice fragrances are fantastic but since Bathed and Infused fragrances are stronger to begin with, I know that many to all of those type of fragrances will be too strong for me to handle on a daily basis.
In addition to a group of great fragrances, this company has a range of stellar body products. The Body Fluff and In-Between Cream are great for skin that gets dry going into the fall and winter. The Body Fluff is more of a body butter and is only for the driest of skin, where the In-Between Cream is good for dry skin to use on a daily basis. The lotion is best for normal to somewhat dry skin and also works well for use on a daily basis. The Whipped Sugar Scrub provides a great exfoliation and is one of the best scrubs on the market today. Last but not least, the Tea-Infused Body Wash foams up well and rinses clean, it is another favorite body wash of mine.
I haven't tried the perfumes from this company but I have heard on the Makeup Alley boards that they are a great quality and well worth trying out. In addition to the traditional body products, I am very interested in the Bath Bombs from this company since I want to see how they compare to other bath products on the market. I love bath bombs in general and being able to order them in over 200 fragrances would be a dream come true...

In addition to descriptions of the new scents that have just been released, I also want to give you ladies some details about my favorite products. My favorites are the Tea-Infused Body Wash, the Body Fluff, the Whipped Sugar Scrub, and the Bubble Bath.
Tea-Infused Body Wash - Clean rinsing yet moisturizing, our body was will be waiting for you by the tub or shower to help you remove the grime of the daily grind. Count on it to lather well and leave your skin feeling super clean, soft, and lightly scented. We also infuse our body wash with one of nature's most potent anti-oxidants, white tea extract. Studies show that anti-oxidants, like white tea extract, tame free radicals, helping to minimize the signs of aging.
Body Fluff - This is are almost famous whipped cream made from 25% pure shea butter. This thick, rich, but never greasy unique body butter disappears into your skin leaving it protected, moisturized, and healed. It's perfect for any type of skin and you'll love the texture. Just what's needed for the harsh conditions of winter, but light enough to use during the summer too!
Whipped Sugar Scrub - Whip it! Whip it real good! Our new Whipped Sugar Scrub will help you do just that to your rough skin. This creamy, whipped scrub has the skin softening goodness of shea butter, and a special blend of exotic oils. And best of all it leaves your skin exfoliated and conditioned, but not greasy. It's the perfect scrub to whip your dry skin into shape!
Bubbles - Bubbles, bubbles everywhere!! Just what you need after a long day. Lay back and relax as your worries slip away. Stay until the candles run out or you've finished that great book. Get it in your favorite scent for a bath time treat!!
Bubbles is the newest of the products so I have only used it in one fragrance but I have found that it is a great bubble bath and compares favorably to most others that I have tried. The body wash is fantastic, tons of lather and rinses clean but doesn't dry skin out. The Body Fluff is best for very dry skin and really helps to hydrate. And the Whipped Sugar Scrub is just wonderful, very scrubby and rinses clean.
My fragrance shopping list is quite long from this company. Paradise is my first choice since I need to restock Fluff ad order the Bubbles and Whipped Sugar Scrub. Petite Choux is my second choice since it is both rose scented and based on sweet pastries. Box of Chocolates, Butt Naked in Bed, Croissant, Ever After, Femme Fatale, First Kiss, Hearts, Lady Chocolat, Romance, Sensuous Sandalwood, Texas Rose, and Wine & Roses. Texas Rose is brand new and I am very interested in this one since Texas holds the rose capital of the United States. This is going to be a huge order...

Caramel Apple Cider looks like it will be a close second for me in the favorites category. Since it is that time of the year, I am also thinking of getting products in Yellow Silk. My favorite products from this company are the Body Scrub, the Body Fluff (thick cream), and the Body Lotion. As a word of advice, the Lotion is so thick that it reminds me more of a cream and the Fluff reminds me more of a butter, keep this is mind when ordering and you will thank me in the long run.

Bathed and Infused Valentine's Day Fragrances

This time, we are going to look at Bathed and Infused, the first etailer that I had ever ordered from and one of my overall favorites. This company always has fast service, an extensive scent list, and the packaging is the same every single time that I order from them. This company didn't offer any new fragrances at Christmas so (inspite of myself), I was very excited to see something new from this group. Actually, my first ever etailer purchase was Valentine's Day fragrances from this company so I have to love them. On first glance, the scent list of the limited edition fragrances is much longer than it has been in previous years so there will be at least one scent for everyone.
Let's jump right in...
Black Cat - This best-seller from Halloween is back by popular demand! A devious blend of black licorice and pumpkin, both of which are scents that reportedly drive men wild. Just wait until you cross his path - meow!
Blue Moon - Blue Moon, I saw you standing alone...Don't be blue on Valentine's Day! Lemon, blueberries, and marshmellow combine in such a dreamy way that you'll know you're not alone.
Blush - Just like that pinkish glow that creeps into your face when that certain someone is near, this fruity floral blend with a soft breath of vanilla and a hint of musk with recreate that indescrible feeling.
Box of Chocolates - You know the saying , "Like is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get."? We say it doesn't matter if you treat yourself to a little bite of each one! This chocolate confection is based on just that philosophy. A little bit of raspberry filling, a little bit of caramel, a touch of almond, and a whole lot of chocolate. Take a little bite of each; we won't tell.
Bridezilla - Ah! We love your incessant chatter about dusty rose and mauve! Cash bar at the reception? Great idea! Definitely monitor your bridesmaids' calorie intake. Soft and innocent, this vanilla and stephanotis fragrance veils the nuptial nightmare that lurks below the surface.
Croissant - As you stroll down the Rue de Rivoli and catch a whiff of something delicious in the air, you're drawn to a small bakery where the fresh croissants are piled neatly in the glass display. "Un croissant, s'il vous plait." Ah, the buttery goodness just melts in your mouth.
Ever After - You'll happily daydream about this floral combinaton of rose, violets, and bergamot kissed with musk and vanilla. Prince Charming? Who needs him?
Femme Fatale - Sexy sandalwood and vanilla combine with a touch of chocolate that puts the red in lipstick and the high in heels.
First Kiss - Exhilarating as a first kiss, this deceptively simple blend of coconut, cherry, and almond will make you fall in love all over again.
Heart's Desire - Longing gently wraps its arms around you and your soul stirs. The feeling inside you swells like the tide and the love in your heart glows bright crimson. Coconut milk, blood orange, and sweet cake will have you falling in love.
Lady Chocolat - Sophisticated. Demure. Irresistable. Lady Chocolat is all about class. A decadent blend of fine chocolates.
Love Notion - The sexy allure of musk and pumpkin tempered with vanilla. This secret recipe is sure to tempt them closer.
Marshmellow Cloud - Butter cookies kissed by Tonka Bean float away on this fluffy, whipped marshmellow cloud. A sweet treat for your sweet tooth.
Paradise - Get lost in a lush, tropical jungle with the one you love and feast on mangos, papayas, and pineapples swirled with cotton candy for a sweetness that only the two of you share.
Pucker Up - Pucker up, buttercup! This tart citrus blend is a sure to be a true for your kisser. Polynesian grapefruit and a touch of sweet citrus are blended into this fresh, fabulous blend.
Pure Indulgence - Ahhhh, who doesn't love to be pampered every once in a while? Give your senses a treat with this complex fragrance that begins with a hint of brown sugar, delicate pink freesia petals, Madagascar vanilla bean, pure jasmine absolute, and ends with a slight touch of nag champa.
Ruby Slippers - The alluring ruby glow will tempt you too with this delicious champagne cocktail spiked with pomegranate juice, fresh blueberries, and a kiss of coconut.
Sensous Sandalwood - The rich, alluring scent of this sandalwood fragrance is incredibly sexy, and works incredibly well as a scent for men or women. Great for when you want a lush, woody, sophisticated aroma.
She's No Tart - Hey! Just because she's sexy and confident, doesn't mean you can judge her. She may not be a tart, but the fragrance she wears has bite. A floral with a twist: Lilac and Orchid touched with mint and lime.
Starry Eyes - What do you see when you look deep into your lover's eyes? Why, the heavens of course! Shooting stars and comets bubble across the sky as heliotrope, musk, and amber, and a touch of tonka bean waft through the air.
Violet Chiffon Cake - This light-as-air chiffon cake is dipped in sweet lightly scented with fragrant violets. Romantic and totally decadent!
Vixen - You know you're sexy and you need a scent that is as seductive and alluring as you are! This sensual blend brings together black currants, orange, delicately soft amber, vanilla, water lily, and hints of black pepper, and coriander.
What I love this most about this huge collection is that there are scents for every mood of Valentine's Day...love, kinda grumpy, and going out. Of this collection, Paradise is the only one that I have owned before, I bought it in the wash and the lotion about two years ago and it still remains one of my favorite scents from this company. The blend of the tropical fruits and the cotton candy is perfect. I highly recommend several items from this company, the body lotion and fluff, the body wash, and especially the whipped sugar scrub. I have not tried the EDTs from Bathed and Infused but they are much raved about on Makeup Alley's boards so I feel safe recommending them too.
Based on the success that I have had with the scents so far from this company, I would also like to get - Blue Moon, Box of Chocolates, Croissant, Ever After, Femme Fatale, First Kiss. Lady Chocolat, Marshmellow Cloud, She's No Tart, and Violet Chiffon Cake. Another great thing about this company that I forgot to mentio above? The turn-around-time is super quick, usually within a week so this company is also a great option for gift giving without having to think a month in advance.

Happy St. Patrick's Day with Bathed and Infused!

It might be obvious to everyone that reads this that my favorite holiday is St. Patrick’s Day. I get ready for it weeks in advance and start drinking Shamrock Shakes well before Valentine’s Day. As we all know, I love Irish everything and since my favorite color is green, this is the ideal holiday for me to celebrate. To keep St. Patrick’s Day is my heart all year round, I have to get fragrances that remind me of this holiday. Bathed and Infused makes two fantastic ones that I think should be part of everyone’s body product wardrobe. And both are uni-sex, so anyone can fall in love with these products.
The first one is called Green. This is one of the highest rated Bathed and Infused fragrances on the Makeup Alley Bath and Body board and it is recommended by all those who have used it before. I ordered this one with high hopes but I was kinda afraid that I might be disappointed by all the hype surrounding it. But I was overjoyed to learn firsthand that this fragrance does not disappoint and it truly worthy of its status as one of the best and most versatile scents from this company. Here is the description, “Spring comes to life when all things green push their way through the surface to receive the welcoming warmth of the sun. Grass, clover, garden mint, and a twist of lime perfectly capture the essence of this special time of year.” This one is crisp and fresh and makes me think of the first warm days of spring that are so treasured.
The second one is called Shamrock. This is the Bathed and Infused scent for March, under their “A Scent For Every Month” section of their scent listings. This is one of the first scents that I ever bought from and still remains one of my favorites. The description from the company is right here, “The cleanest and greenest scent we could find. Close your eyes and picture yourself surrounded by beautiful green rolling hills and fresh air.” Everything about this fragrance makes me want to go Ireland and spend time in the countryside there. This reminds me of grass after a long soaking rain shower and how the air smells when it is thick with moisture and fragrance.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Spray and wear some Green!!!

Bathed and Infused Twilight Series

The Twilight series from Stephanie Meyers has somewhat become one of my chief guilty pleasures even though it is taking the teenybopper nation by storm. I had the first book recommended to me by a coworker and got hooked on the series so fast that I had the first three books finished by the end of the week and was eagerly awaiting the fourth book.
Of course this trend really picks up for the upcoming Valentines Day. Anyone with a money making endeavor is smart enough to slap something about Twilight on their Valentines Day products/scents. In the case of Hot Topic, this is scary. However in the case of a reputable company with fantastic products and service, this becomes a huge deal.
The company that I am referring to is Bathed and Infused, an independent etailer based out of Colorado. Bathed and Infused is the first company that I ever ordered from and the one that really got into etailer over retailer products. This company offer over 500 scents at any given time and releases Limited Edition scents for every single holiday. They are also fantastic to their customers with top-notch customer service and with running contests to create new scents. They offer all types of body and bath products and I have never been disappointed with anything that I have received. The packaging is the best among the various etailers that I have ordered from and is professional enough to appear on a store shelf.
This Twilight inspired collection is called Love Triangle (to represent that in the books, two boys are in love with Bella and she has a very hard time choosing between them). The description of Love Triangle is right here, “ Three’s a crowd. Especially if one is a vampire and another is a werewolf. Inspired by the hit book Twilight, these scents will keep you up from dusk to dawn. (by erbrooks from the B&I Forum).”
The female scent in this series is obviously called Bella. The description, “Simple. Innocent. Her captivating notes of lilac, lavender, and Pink Sugar lure even the most dangerous of creatures.” In the first book, Edward describes here scent as a mixture of flowers and that is what attracted to her in the first place. The Pink Sugar was added to make the scent more wearable for the average person and creamier than just straight floral notes. I’m not all that happy about the Pink Sugar being added only from the point of view that it is not as true to the book. She smelled like flowers and that is what attracted him, not the scent of Pink Sugar. Ok, I will get off my soapbox now…
There are two male scents, one called Edward and one called Jacob. This is Edward, “Sensual and old-fashioned, mysterious Edward's translucent glow shows with a base of amber kissed with a touch of honey, woods and sapmoss. Catch one whiff and he’ll suck you in.” This scent is old fashioned because his is the vampire. Jacob is the werewolf and his scent is much more on the woody side, “Dark and handsome, Jacob’s wild nature comes out with musk, sweet grass and a hint smoke.” Jacob sounds more a like a guy scent and I can see Edward’s scent as one that would appeal to more sophisticated man. If you want to take the plunge and order any of these scents, I would recommend purchasing the Tea-Infused Body Wash, the Body Scrub, and the Body Fluff or the Body Lotion.
Twilight…Bella…Edward…Jacob…Big sales of these scents for Valentines Day…
