Stila Summer 2009 Collection

Stila seems to have had quite a wild ride the past few months, between changing top leadership and many rumors of the company totally going under, the company has been all over the beauty news. Devotees feared that they would never get their favorite lip glosses ever again. Well with a new leader at the helm, Stila has come back and hopefully they will become better than ever. With the joyride of the past few months, I was not expecting any type of new collections from them this summer. However, they surpassed my expectations and brought out a bunch of new products and colors for this summer.

The collection is called Indian Summer and it is known as the "24k Gold Collection". The collection boasts that it is infused with 24k gold. The company states that gold is a known anti-oxidant and has microbial properties. They also state that gold creates a youthful, glistening finish for the skin.

Props to Stila for taking a new ingredient - the 24kt gold - and using it to create a brand new and very unique line of products! I don't know much about the use of 24kt gold in skincare and I doubt that there has been independant research into the effectiveness of this ingredient so I am not sure how well it will perform as an anti-oxidant. That being said... I want the Brillant Pink and Radiant Sunset lipglosses and the eye shadow palette. However, the new shade of the Smudge Pot is calling my name and I am so excited to see this one in real life. I really think this new shade could be the hit of the collection.
