NARS Spring 2011 Collection

NARS still remains one of my favorite makeup lines even though I haven't purchased as much from them in the past few months as I usually do. This year's spring collection contains a selection of purple hues for eyes and some very unique shades for lips. This promises to be an interesting and very unique collection. The NARS website describes the collection as, "Spring 2011 is the epitome of minimalism, reaching a sensual peak with fresh, forward color. Jeweled earth tones are infused with a metallic finish that lends a subtly sleek finish. Cool compliments of sheer and sparkling lips pair with unexpected accents of parrot green and vivid blue". I am hoping for some new lip shades to come out of this collection.

Duo Eye Shadow - Shades to inspire and desire. The same longwearing crease resistant formula as NARS single eye shadow, in uniquely paired color combinations. Worn together or alone, all duo eye shadows can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. All powder eye shadows can be used wet or dry.

As I stated above, this is a very unique collection and I am wondering how certain pieces of it will work together. My favorite item is the Pure Matte Lipstick is Madere, a pink nude that will work well with all of my gold and bronze eye makeup shades. I also like the Duo Eye Shadow in Nouveau Monde, the duo with the dramatic olive and silver shades. The Soft Touch pencil in Hollywoodland will also be a great highlighter with a bunch of my gold shades or will work well on its own with a more dramatic lip color. The shade that grabbed my attention the most is the Lip Gloss in Nana, the black grape shade. With my pale skin, this could be a jaw-dropping beautiful shade or a total disaster. I will have to try this one out at the counter but I am really hoping this one will be a winner...
